Ponikva is a place, that after the Treaty of Saint-Germain belonged to Yugoslavia and was situated in the administrative region Šmarje.
Ponikva was formerly part of the German Empire. In the German Empire, the place was called Ponigl bei Cilli. The place is now called Ponikva and belongs to Slovenia.
