Šmiklavž is a place, that after the Treaty of Saint-Germain belonged to Yugoslavia and was situated in the administrative region Gornji grad.
Šmiklavž was formerly part of the German Empire. In the German Empire, the place was called Nikolai bei Oberburg. The place is now called Šmiklavž and belongs to Slovenia.
