Šmarje is a place, that after the Treaty of Saint-Germain belonged to Yugoslavia and was situated in the administrative region Dravograd.
Šmarje was formerly part of the German Empire. In the German Empire, the place was called Marein bei Lichtenwald. The place is now called Šmarje and belongs to Slovenia.
